The African Forest Forum (AFF) based in Nairobi, Kenya, and the School of Agriculture, Forest and Food Sciences (HAFL) at Bern University of Applied Sciences in Zollikofen, Switzerland, have established a partnership that supports a scholarship for capacity building of African scientists to enhance the role of forests and forestry in adaptation to and mitigation of climate change.
SAF is seeking Associate Editors for Forest Science (looking for international professionals – ideally from Latin America, Asia, and Africa). Interested individuals can apply by sending a CV to Matt Walls (wallsm@safnet.org).
Gregory Award is a scholarship which helps bring students and young professionals from outside the US and Canada to the SAF Convention. The application is attached.
Nature & Faune Journal is currently accepting manuscripts for publication in its June 2015 edition under the general theme "Forests and People: Investing in Africa’s Sustainable Future ". The Forest Team at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) are seeking a full-time Researcher to contribute to and further develop the research, capacity-building and policy work of the team, with particular focus on investing in locally controlled forestry in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
This is a full-time permanent position based in London. The salary for this role is Grade 4 £34,563 - £38,055 depending on experience (up to £42,941 for exceptional candidates), plus benefits.

The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) one of the leading Universities in the World is offering a blended programme in Business Administration and Natural Resources Management, on the campus of CSIR-FORIG in Kumasi leading to the award of a DUAL DEGREE in Master of Science in Bio-Economy and Natural Resources Management and Executive MBA. The programme operates the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and the certificates are awarded by the University of Eastern Finland (UEF).
The Mastercard Foundation, which is based in Canada, is funding full scholarships for students from Africa to attend the University of British Columbia, either as undergraduates or to enroll in professional Master’s programs.
4 PhD scholarships are available at the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies at the University of Nairobi (UoN) in Collaboration with the University of Copenhagen (UoC).
