This holds also true for the land use sector where forests and trees play key roles in the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of landscapes, particularly against the backdrop of the most pressing problems in the 21st century such as poverty, food security, transformation to a greener economy and sustainable development. In this context, it is important that sufficient evidence is generated from the body of globally available scientific research for the purpose of informing policy decisions and actions about forests and forest-related land-uses.<br />  </p> <p><em><strong>Who should participate?</strong></em></p> <p>Early and mid-career scientists from <strong>economically-disadvantaged countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America </strong>who are:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>working on research issues related to forest landscape restoration,</li> <li>interested in learning how to apply elements used in a systematic review to make their own work more robust and reliable, and</li> <li>interested in meeting international peers in an open, collaborative environment with shared learning and peer-to-peer support.</li> </ul> <p> Please submit your interest by filling out the online form at: <a href="https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.surveymonkey.com%2Fr%2FSystematicEvidenceEvaluationonFLR2021&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7Cb1c215230e734ff49ddf08d8c8ebe2be%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637480262733182855%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=EGDEklHppJeHrS6uP88K902G6yeYrBKvjpNHMTym%2BBk%3D&amp;reserved=0">https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SystematicEvidenceEvaluationonFLR2021</a></p> <p>Deadline for submissions: <strong>28 February</strong>  <strong>2021</strong>, 23:59 GMT</p> <p> </p> <p>Links:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Detailed information on the online Training Workshop on Systematic Evidence Evaluation on Forest Landscape Restoration<strong>: </strong><a href="https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.iufro.org%2Fscience%2Fspecial%2Fspdc%2Ftw%2Fonline-course-systematic-evidence-evaluation-2021%2F&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7Cb1c215230e734ff49ddf08d8c8ebe2be%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637480262733192850%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=6tDHe%2F%2BR%2Bk%2FDvsZU6yzRaVf%2B559eklORMNbPTIlHzpk%3D&amp;reserved=0">https://www.iufro.org/science/special/spdc/tw/online-course-systematic-evidence-evaluation-2021/</a></li> <li>Expression of Interest form: <a href="https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.surveymonkey.com%2Fr%2FSystematicEvidenceEvaluationonFLR2021&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7Cb1c215230e734ff49ddf08d8c8ebe2be%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637480262733192850%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=K3qb2CL0cyz2%2FlcC13aZKEIyAR4TuqpK1DVLkgJPLYg%3D&amp;reserved=0">https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SystematicEvidenceEvaluationonFLR2021</a></li> </ul> <p> </p> </div> <span class="field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden"><span lang="" about="/user/294" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">abladesteven</span></span> <span class="field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden">Thu, 02/04/2021 - 09:43</span> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-contactinfo field--type-text-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Contact info</div> <div class="field__item"><p>Contact us at <a href="mailto:office@iufro.org">office@iufro.org</a> or visit <a href="https://www.iufro.org/">https://www.iufro.org/</a></p> <p>IUFRO Headquarters, Marxergasse 2, 1030 Vienna, Austria.</p> <p>Imprint: <a href="https://www.iufro.org/legal/#c74">https://www.iufro.org/legal/#c74</a> * Privacy policy: <a href="https://www.iufro.org/legal/#c10397">https://www.iufro.org/legal/#c10397</a></p> </div> </div> <a href="/taxonomy/term/6" hreflang="en">Forest Policy and Governance</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/8" hreflang="en">Forest Products Utilisation and Trade</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/5" hreflang="en">Forests and Climate Change</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/7" hreflang="en">Forests and Poverty Alleviation</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/9" hreflang="en">Other Information</a> <a href="/taxonomy/term/820" hreflang="en">IUFRO-SPDC</a> Thu, 04 Feb 2021 09:43:07 +0000 abladesteven 786 at https://fornis.net Call for Project Outlines on Sustainable Recovery https://fornis.net/content/call-project-outlines-sustainable-recovery <span class="field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden">Call for Project Outlines on Sustainable Recovery </span> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>The German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) has launched a new funding round of the thematic selection procedure under International Climate Initiative (IKI).
