Male and female trees are distinguished by the size of crown and tree trunk, forking characteristics, and distribution and abundance of flowers in the crown. Male flowers in general are longer and slender than female flowers.</p> <p> It takes approximately 5-6 weeks from time of fertilization maturation. Premature abscission of fruits is not uncommon. While fruiting may not occur every year the results suggests that in a good fruiting year odum tree can be quite prolific. The observational reported here have implications in breeding programme for odum.</p> </div> </div><span class="field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden"><span lang="" about="/user/1" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">emmlsosu</span></span> <span class="field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden">Sun, 05/16/2010 - 07:01</span> <div class="field field--name-field-citat field--type-string-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Citation</div> <div class="field__item">Ghana Journal of Forestry Vol.1 1994 pp.19-29</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-resp field--type-string-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Responsible party</div> <div class="field__item">Forestry Research Institute of Ghana</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-fund field--type-string-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Funding bodies</div> <div class="field__item">Government of Ghana, Forestry Research Institute of Ghana</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-upload field--type-file field--label-hidden field__items"> <div class="field__item"><table data-striping="1"> <thead> <tr> <th>Attachment</th> <th>Size</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr class="odd"> <td> <span class="file file--mime-application-pdf file--application-pdf"> <a href="https://fornis.net/sites/default/files/documents/flowering_fruiting_patterns.pdf" type="application/pdf; length=5220838">flowering_fruiting_patterns.pdf</a></span> </td> <td>4.98 MB</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-lang-enfr field--type-list-string field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Language</div> <div class="field__item">en</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-author field--type-string-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Author</div> <div class="field__item">Nyong&#039;o, R.N., Cobbinah, J.R. &amp; Appiah-Kwarteng, J.</div> </div> <a href="/fpep" hreflang="en">Forests and People</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/5" hreflang="en">Forests and Climate Change</a> <a href="/taxonomy/term/57" hreflang="en">milicia spp.</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/58" hreflang="en">reproductive biology</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/59" hreflang="en">flowering patterns</a> / <a href="/taxonomy/term/60" hreflang="en">fruiting patterns</a> Sun, 16 May 2010 12:01:19 +0000 emmlsosu 99 at https://fornis.net
