Biography

I have accomplished my Ph.D. in Forestry and livelihood at the University of Natural Resources and Life sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria in 2006 and did post-Doctorate Degree in Environmental Sciences at the Czech University of Life sciences in Prague, Czech Republic in 2008. I have 18 years of professional working experience in the field of climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, and forestry both at the national and international organizations. Before joining Practical Action in January 2019, I used to work as the Programme Manager: Climate change and Disaster Risk Management in the HELVETAs Swiss Intercooperation Nepal based in Kathmandu where I have worked for about 3 years ( 2016-2018). From 2009-2011, I have worked as a Community Forestry and Livelihood specialist, based in ForestAction Nepal (a non-government organization), and a team leader of a DFID funded project Research Into Use. In between 2011-2015, I have worked as Climate Change and Forestry Outcome Manager in a Multi-Stakeholder Forestry Programme hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal. I have worked with the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, Nepal in between 1996-2002.
