This international and inter-disciplinary scientific conference aims to advance cutting edge knowledge on the emergence and evolution of African forest-related policy and politics. The conference will take place in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 24 to 27 September 2018, with the support of the Commission of Central African Forests (COMIFAC).
EFN’s Reforestation Grant Program focuses on supporting communities in regaining ecological integrity and enhancing human wellbeing in deforested and degraded landscapes through forest restoration. EFN is looking for organizations that will use this workshop opportunity to connect corridors, create buffer zones, improve degraded lands, restore watersheds, and expand forest cover while also allowing local stakeholders to connect with nature and become a vested part of a larger conservation program.
The International Forestry Students' Association (IFSA) will be hosting the annual Northern Africa Regional Meeting (NARM) in Sunyani, Ghana, 21-26 May 2017. The theme of the meeting, hosted at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), is "Improving resilience to climate change and realizing sustainable use of land, forest, and water resources: the role of youth".
The IUFRO Special Programme for Development of Capacities (SPDC) in collaboration with the Institute for Commercial Forestry Research (ICFR), South Africa, and the University of Oxford, UK, is organizing a 3-day training workshop on Systematic review in forest science, to be held as a pre-conference event in connection with the 7th Forest Science Symposium.
The African Forest Forum (AFF) based in Nairobi, Kenya, and the School of Agriculture, Forest and Food Sciences (HAFL) at Bern University of Applied Sciences in Zollikofen, Switzerland, have established a partnership that supports a scholarship for capacity building of African scientists to enhance the role of forests and forestry in adaptation to and mitigation of climate change.
SAF is seeking Associate Editors for Forest Science (looking for international professionals – ideally from Latin America, Asia, and Africa). Interested individuals can apply by sending a CV to Matt Walls (wallsm@safnet.org).

Nature & Faune Journal is currently accepting manuscripts for publication in its June 2015 edition under the general theme "Forests and People: Investing in Africa’s Sustainable Future ". The Editorial Board is thus inviting Academic and Research Institutions and Development Partners to contribute brief articles (1500 words or 3 pages).
The Royal Society, in partnership with the Department for International Development (DFID), will open the first round of applications for Programme Grants as part of its Royal Society - DFID Africa Capacity Building Initiative in November 2013. Applications will be invited in three priority areas:

The main purpose of this new programme is to assist in strengthening the collaborations between scientists based in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Forest Team at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) are seeking a full-time Researcher to contribute to and further develop the research, capacity-building and policy work of the team, with particular focus on investing in locally controlled forestry in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
